G Ellis changes mind, opts out of Duke commitment

Guard Boogie Ellis has been released from his letter of intent to play at Duke.The Duke Chronicle reported Thursday team spokesman Mike DeGeorge confirmed that the Blue Devils granted his request to be released.Ellis, a four-star guard on the 247Sports composite rankings, originally considered a number of schools, including Memphis, North Carolina and his hometown San Diego State, before committing to Duke on Nov. 9 and signing during the early signing period.The 247Sports rankings list him as the No. 34 player in the nation.
