Miami takes down Ole Miss to equal last year’s win total (7)

Shelton Henderson totaled 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists to lead Miami to a 75-66 victory against Ole Miss as part of the ACC-SEC Challenge on Tuesday night at Oxford, Miss.The Hurricanes (7-2) equaled their win total from last season and snapped a 16-game road losing streak, winning their first true road game since Jan. 24, 2024 at Notre Dame.Miami made a season-high 11 3-pointers out of 25 attempts (44 percent), led by Tru Washington, who went 4-for-6 from deep and finished with 17 points. Washington also had seven rebounds and three steals.Travis Perry and Patton Pinkins each had 11 points to lead the Rebels (5-3), who lost their third game in a row. Malik Dia also had nine points and nine rebounds.Miami led 47-28 with 18:27 left in the second half when Ole Miss subbed out all five starters. Led by Koren Johnson’s six points during a 12-2 surge, the Rebels cut Miami’s lead to 49-40 over the next two minutes and 40 seconds.Ole Miss held its own and cut the Hurricanes’ lead to nine again with 5:29 left on a Perry jumper. But Washington answered with five quick points for Miami to help it eventually seal the win.
