Reports: Georgia lands Stony Brook transfer Garcia

Stony Brook forward Andrew Garcia is transferring to Georgia, according to multiple reports on Wednesday.As a graduate transfer, he’ll be eligible to play immediately for the Bulldogs, who were 16-16 last season but near the bottom of the Southeastern Conference standings with a 5-13 conference record. They are losing freshman shooting guard Anthony Edwards, who is projected as the No. 1 pick in many mock drafts.Forward Rayshaun Hammonds, Georgia’s second-leading scorer from 2019-20, also entered the draft.Garcia, who is 6-foot-5, was an All-America East second-team selection. He averaged 13.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in 33 games for the Seawolves.
